Richard Price on “The Outsider”: “Most Horror is not Horrifying”
HBO The Outsider's literary pedigree is spotless: based on Stephen King's novel of the same title, adapted for TV by screenwriter Richard Price, Oscar nominee in 1986 for The Color of Money, and author of acclaimed TV series such as The Deuce and The Night Of. As in the novel, the series mixes two genres seemingly incompatible, the crime thriller and the supernatural mystery.
