Stars turned heads in styles that made you stare. In a good way.

If anyone doubted that the ‘80s are being revisited, you only need to look at the size of sleeves appearing on the red carpet to know they are trending. Two other themes: pink continues to show up as do metallics.

There’s a crop of young talent splashing over our screens this season, while also bringing a new ethos to the red carpet. Over the next months we’ll be showcasing talent to watch – and their style choices.

The past few weeks of the HFPA Runway – photos taken when talent meets with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for interviews – was filled with established stars we’ve not seen for a while and fresh young talent.  All dressed exquisitely.

Despite the Venice heat, oodles of material offset the sheath. Trousers also popped up, while men stayed classic.
