Golden Globe Awards

In 1943, the year the Golden Globe Awards were conceived, the globe was anything but golden. In fact, the world was on fire.

Whoopi Goldberg stars in and is a co-producer of Till (2022) written and directed by Chinonye Chukwu. In 1986 she won a Golden Globe as Best Actress in a Drama for her movie debut in The Color Purple directed by Steven Spielberg from the 1982 novel by Alice Walker.

Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan, who took over the iconic role of James Bond created by Ian Fleming, after Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton had played him, spoke to the journalists of the Hollywood Foreign Press about his interpretation of Secret Agent 007 in Goldeneye (1995) directed by Martin Campbell, the timely topics of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Roger Spottiswood, and The World is Not Enough (1999) by Michael Apted. He would reprise the role a fourth and last time in Die Another Day (2002) by Lee Tamahori.

Kevin Kline, a five times Golden Globe nominee is costarring with Sigourney Weaver in The Good House. In 1987 Kline spoke about apartheid in South Africa, during an exclusive interview with the journalists of the Hollywood Foreign Press about the movie Cry Freedom directed by Richard Attenborough, costarring Denzel Washington.

At the Golden Globes, everyone is welcome. In its almost 80 years of history, many Hispanic talents have been honored for their work, from the brightest to the almost unknown until that moment.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association® (HFPA) today announced the awards timetable for the 80th Annual Golden Globe® Awards along with several changes including the splitting of an acting category in television. Nominations will be announced on Monday, December 12, 2022, with award winners announced on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in a ceremony televised live on NBC and Peacock from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association® (HFPA), dick clark productions (dcp), and NBC today announced that Emmy®-winning producer Jesse Collins will serve as showrunner and executive producer of the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards®, returning live coast-to-coast on NBC and Peacock on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. Dionne Harmon of Jesse Collins Entertainment will also serve as an executive producer.

Bette Midler won one of her four Golden Globes out of eight nominations in 1992 as Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for the movie For the Boys. directed by Mark Rydell costarring James Caan.
