The film Blondie: Vivir en la Habana recently premiered at the Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF), where Debbie Harry was an honorary guest. The 18-minute documentary directed by Rob Roth was part of the RIFF music films program and was filmed during a 2019 tour by the band in Cuba.

Since its launch in 2010, fans of The Walking Dead have applauded the show for delivering a wealth of well-developed female characters to the small screen. Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur opened Reykjavik Studios (RVK) in 2018 in a building that used to be a fertilizer plant. The studio, which is roughly 86,000 square feet is one of Europe’s largest and as Iceland is already a popular shooting location for international projects, Kormákur hopes to attract foreign productions to shoot here.

Wes Anderson’s love letter to French cinema and homage to print journalism comes in the form of his upcoming film, The French Dispatch, in which he has recruited the Anderson ensemble of usual suspects including Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, and Bob Balaban, and has added some new faces to his well-worn troupe, including Alex Lawther, Timothée Chalamet, Lea Seydoux and Elisabeth Moss. At the New York Film Festival, the esteemed writer-director-producer joined some of his cast via Zoom from Cinchón, Spain, on the outskirts of Madrid, where he is shooting Asteroid City to discuss this much-anticipated new film.

Outlander fans were in for a treat at New York Comic Con when a panel for the Golden Globe-nominated series revealed behind-the-scenes secrets to an incredibly excited audience. Actor Sam Heughan was joined on the Empire Stage at Manhattan’s Javits Center by Outlander writer Diana Gabaldon and executive producer Maril Davis, while other members of the cast – including Catriona Balfe, John Bell, Lauren Lyle, and César Domboy – called into the panel from overseas.

Italian composer and Golden Globe nominee Carlo Siliotto’s roots are in folk music. During his career he has written music for over 100 projects, ranging from theatrical features to documentaries and television series.

Attendees at New York Comic Con 2021 were in for a supernatural surprise when Golden Globe winner Jason Reitman decided to host a secret screening of his latest movie, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Reitman was scheduled to speak at a panel on the project and introduce some exclusive footage, but the filmmaker went a step further by playing the movie in its entirety – more than five weeks before its domestic release.
