Cannes 2022 – HFPA Restoration Panel Premiere: Watch Here!

For the past 33 years, the HFPA has donated over 50 million dollars to organizations and charities related to cinema, among them the preservation of film and the heritage of filmmakers. 138 films to date have been restored. HFPA-president Helen Hoehne announced a new grant at this year’s festival for the restoration of an iconic French film, Abel Gance’s then blockbuster silent film Napoleon made in 1927. Hosted by Patrice Caré, panelists Sandra Schulberg (president of Indie Collect), Gian Luca Farinelli (president of Cinecitta di Bologna) and Frédéric Bennaud (director of the Lumiére Institute) discuss the importance of this work with CNC director Laurent Cormier.
