Dan Stevens on “Legion”

Of all the Marvel adaptations to date, Legion may be the most inventive (and that’s saying something). Playing more like an homage to Patrick McGoohan’s cult “psy-fi” The Prisoner than the X-Men spinoff comic it’s based on, the FX series has the amazing visual richness of a Ken Russell movie along with enough mind-bending plot mysteries to potentially keep us busy for seasons to come. Created by Noah Hawley (Fargo) the series stars Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey) as David Haller whose schizophrenia seemingly turns out to be the symptoms of an Omega-level mutant. The HFPA’s Scott Orlin asked him how we’re to make sense of it all.
