Dustin Hoffman’s 85th birthday
The Los Angeles-born actor started his career in the 1960s in New York, where he acted on stage before returning to his hometown. In 1968 he received the Most Promising Newcomer Award for The Graduate. Four more Golden Globes followed (for Kramer vs. Kramer, Tootsie, Death of a Salesman and Rain Man). In 1997 he was honored with the Cecil B. deMille Award.
