The Wife is a timely film about a woman coming into her own power. After 40 years of marriage, Joan and Joe Castleman (Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce) seem the perfect complement as a couple. Joe is a famous author who loves the limelight, while Joan appears happy as the demure woman behind the man. As Joe reaches the pinnacle of his career being awarded the Nobel Prize, the fissures in their marriage start to explode, and a long-buried truth is revealed. HFPA member Margaret Gardiner spoke to Glenn Close, Jonathan Pryce and Christian Slater (who plays the journalist intent on exposing the truth) for this report.
