For the 17th year running, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association celebrated its Foreign Film nominees with the Globe Foreign-Language Nominee Symposium held in association with the American Cinematheque. The Symposium featured a virtual panel with all five directors of the nominated films in the Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language category, moderated by the HFPA’s Silvia Bizio.

This year’s nominees, Thomas Vinterberg, ANOTHER ROUND (Denmark), Jayro Bustamante, LA LLORONA (Guatemala/France), Edoardo Ponti, THE LIFE AHEAD (Italy), Lee Isaac Chung, MINARI (USA) and Filippo Meneghetti, TWO OF US (France/USA) spoke about their films, the challenges of bringing them to fruition and the significance of a Golden Globe nomination.
