Ian McShane and Pablo Schreiber on American Gods

Adapted from the Hugo and Nebula award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, American Gods brings to the small screen a story, which Starz hopes will connect with the legion of fans, which made up the cult following for the book. The show follows the fallen Gods who move among us as they fight for relevance in a world, which has abandoned its ancient worships for the new shiny amulets of money and technology. The show runners are Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) and Michael Green (Green Lantern, Logan). The two previously collaborated on Heroes and not surprisingly have produced a show of grand visual invention. Listen as two of the “Gods” – Ian McShane  (Mr. Wednesday) and Pablo Schreiber (Mad Sweeney) – talk with HFPA’s Scott Orlin and explain the timely allegory behind the visual magic.
