Jill Soloway, creator of the Amazon Studios series Transparent was inspired by the actual experience of her own parent coming out to the family as transgender. That likely accounts for the show’s widely praised emotional authenticity which won it a ground breaking Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and a Best Actor Golden Globe for its star, Jeffrey Tambor – the first ever awarded to an Amazon Studios production. Tambor reprises his role of Mort/Maura in the second season and he stopped by to talk about the show and its significance.
