Jon Favreau on Updating a Classic Jungle Book

Rudyard Kipling’s beloved Jungle Book fables got a memorable Disney treatment in 1967 with the animated film, which introduced Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, Ka, Shere Khan – and the unforgettable tunes by Louis Prima – to generations of families. Fifty years later Jon Favreau re-imagines the tale of the man-cub and his Jungle adventures with a film that is faithful to the original storytelling while adopting the kind of digital film making that has obliterated visual boundaries. Listen as Favreau tells the HFPA’s Munawar Hosain what went into imagining the film.
