More lies, both big and small, that was the forecast for the Monterey coast as HBO launched the new season of its hit series, Big Little Lies. The show was supposed to be a limited series but the extraordinary audience and critical success (including four Golden Globes) was enough to induce David E. Kelley and the creative team to reprise the story after last year’s climactic conclusion. So, the amazing cast is back: Reese Witherspoon (four nominations, one win), Laura Dern (five noms; three wins) Nicole Kidman (11 nominations; 3 Globes) and Shailene Woodley, nominated for The Descendants. If that wasn’t enough the new addition to the cast of women is none other than Meryl Streep, who brings eight Globes (on 31 nominations) to the table. All we can say is, let the fireworks begin. Mirai Konishi and Elisabeth Sereda caught up with Woodley and Laura Dern and asked them about the new season.
