Golden Globe-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in the new sports drama Ford v Ferrari, based on the untold true story of the retired race car builder Carroll Shelby (Damon) and his pilot and friend Ken Miles (Bale). Together Shelby and Miles built a revolutionary race car for Ford and took on Ferrari’s unbeatable team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966. To play Ken Miles, Christian Bale lost more than 70 pounds after his dramatic weight gain for his last film, Vice. HFPA journalist Katherine Tulich talked to Damon and Bale who stressed that Ford v Ferrari is more than a race car movie.
