“I remember being on my computer and just dropping my mouse and hitting my leg and just screaming in pure joy,” says Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in her exclusive interview with the HFPA. The new Golden Globe winner – she won Best Actress in a Drama Series for Pose – made history as the first ever transgender actress to win a major award.

She sat down with Elisabeth Sereda and Ramzy Malouki and talked in depth about her long journey that brought her to this point in her career, her take on fame, her fans, the reaction of her community and yes, that bold new haircut – “it doesn’t matter if there’s hair on my head or not.”

In her characteristic modesty, she also spoke about what her success means for LGBTQAI people all over the world: “It humbles me, and it makes me feel good to know that change is on the way.”
