Nick Nolte is Ex-President “Graves”

Nick Nolte plays former president Richard Graves, an ex commander in chief with a guilty conscience and an executive-sized midlife crisis. Repentant after a career as a hard-line conservative, this president is not content with the lifetime security detail and a presidential library: he wants to make amends and restore his legacy, and that can be easier said than done. Nolte racked up a slew of TV credits in the seventies, including the pioneering miniseries Rich Man Poor Man. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for that role (he was nominated three more times and won for Best Actor in Prince of Tides). He has returned to the small screen in prestigious projects of late, like David Milch’s and Michael Mann’s Luck and last year’s Gracepoint. The HFPA’s Ramzy Malouki spoke to him about headlining the half-hour comedy for Epix, about his presidential inspirations and, obviously, about the current campaign.
