Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg on The Preacher
Seth Rogen and creative partner/childhood buddy Evan Goldberg have been collaborating for the better part of a decade now, delivering edgy adult comedies like Knocked Up, Pineapple Express and This is the End. Including The Interview whose irreverent portrayal of strongman Kim Jong Un landed Sony into a diplomatic incident with North Korea, provoking, by all accounts, the infamous Sony hack. Now these partners in comedy crime (together with Breaking Bad co-writer Sam Catlin) try their luck in the serial format withThe Preacher, adapted from the cult DC comic created by Garth Ennis and Steven Dillon. The supernatural comedy-horror on AMC recounts of a Texas preacher possessed by a cosmic entity (Dominic Cooper), his best buddy/rogue Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) and his badass girlfriend (Ruth Negga) and aims squarely for the fanboy demographic. The HFPA’s Ramzy Malouki asked Rogen and Goldberg about the show and their transition to the small screen.
