The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 Forges Into Original Territory

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale was one of last year’s breakout shows earning three Golden Globe nominations and wins both as Best Television Drama and for Best Actress (Elisabeth Moss’ second Globe). A testament to the excellence of the production helmed by show runner Bruce Miller who collaborated closely with Margaret Atwood in adapting and serializing her novel. Meanwhile Atwood’s dark dystopia of dictatorial misogyny resonated loudly with audiences living through the current political climate. The HFPA’s Mirai Konishi and Jenny Cooney caught up with Miller along with cast members Madeline Brewer, Max Minghella and Yvonne Strahovski at the recent Paleyfest presentation, for a preview of the upcoming season 2, which having covered the events of the original novel, is now based on original writing.
