Adela Mac Swiney González was born in Mexico City, although her first studies and training as a bachelor of social communication sciences took place in the state of Yucatán, in the southeast of Mexico. There she began working as a journalist, especially on political issues, at the Mexican News Agency (Notimex). She later moved to Mexico City, where in addition to covering elections in various entities in Mexico and the activities of the Ministry of the Interior, she followed up the 2000 presidential election, where for the first time a party other than the PRI achieved victory. triumph. From 2005 to 2007 she was a correspondent for Notimex in Spain and later served as director of social communication of the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CDI). In June 2008, she was appointed chief European correspondent of the Mexican State News Agency (Notimex), a position she held until January 2019. In May 2013 she received the best foreign correspondent award from the International Press Club. In August 2015, she received the Generation Anáhuac Medal, the highest recognition given by the Anáhuac University to its graduates and received recognition from the Calanda International Film Festival, for the dissemination of the event in Mexico and Latin America. She has been a juror at various film festivals such as Medina del Campo, Ecozine, Málaga, Lleida, Veracruz, Huelva and is a voter at the Forqué Awards, the Feroz Awards and the Hollywood Golden Globes.
