Alessandra De Tommasi
Alessandra De Tommasi has been a professional journalist for over 20 years. Since 2000, she has been an entertainment reporter for national Italian publications such as Vanity Fair and La Repubblica, and was the managing editor for Italy’s first monthly magazine entirely devoted to covering the world of TV series, called Telefilm Magazine, which was a successful offshoot of the Telefilm Festival, Italy’s first TV series festival, for which she was a collaborator ever since its inception in 2003. Her desire to shine a light on stories of inclusion and body positivity led Alessandra De Tommai to launch her own entertainment blog, called Air Quotes, in 2019. She has travelled the world as a juror in several high-profile festivals, such as the Short Film Jury for the Bahamas International Film Festival. She routinely covers international events around the globe as a correspondent, from Saudi Arabia to Macau, and has ongoing collaborations with numerous cultural entities in the world of entertainment, one example being the Giffoni Film Festival, for which she has been a part of the press office staff since 2007. She’s been selected as press juror in many festivals, in Italy (such as Alice nella città from Rome Film Festival) , and internationally (such as Series Mania, in Lille). Starting 2016, Alessandra De Tommasi has been a pre-selection committee member for the Monte-Carlo TV Festival, under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. This is the longest-running and most prestigious festival dedicated to scripted and unscripted television in Europe.
