Since 2017, Ali Benzekri has worked as a film critic for a range of international outlets, covering major film festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, and Venice. He is the creator and showrunner of Ticket Cinema, a weekly radio show on Morocco’s national broadcaster Radio 2M, which he has hosted since 2021.

Ali is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of Filmoteca, a traveling film initiative dedicated to showcasing rarely screened classics and independent films in cinemas across several Moroccan cities. In parallel, he leads a youth-oriented film criticism workshop organized during the Marrakech International Film Festival.

Beyond his editorial and curatorial work, he previously served as Head of Archives at the Cinémathèque de Tanger. He was appointed by Morocco’s Ministry of Culture to serve on the grants committee for festivals and cinematographic events at the Centre Cinématographique Marocain (CCM) in both 2021 and 2022. He has been a member of the International Cinephile Society since 2018.
