A critic for the online publication Panorama-cinéma and the printed magazine Séquences, Claire Valade is the current president of the Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma (Québec Film Critics Association) where she also served as president from 2016 to 2019. She has been active on the Montreal cultural and film scene for 30 years. As a programmer, she has worked on several festivals and cultural institutions, including the Festival of New Cinema and the Cinémathèque québécoise. As a member of the FIPRESCI, she also served on the FIPRESCI jury at the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2012 and the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019. She earns her living as a language professional and is working on her first book.
