Cláudio Alves is a Portuguese film critic with a background in theater, set and costume design. In 2015, while working on small stage shows, he started writing for the Portuguese site Magazine HD. Since then, he’s become one of its senior cinema editors and has written, both in Portuguese and English, for such sites as The Film Experience, Filmin PT, and Photogénie. He participated in the 2017 Young Critics Workshop at the Ghent Film Festival and covered TIFF as part of the Media Inclusion Initiative. Presently, he’s a voting member of the ICS and GALECA.
