Elena Rubashevska is a film director and film critic, as well as the FIPRESCI Editor-in-Chief. She has worked as a director and screenwriter, creating media content for non-governmental organizations and socially responsible businesses such as WWF, OSCE, and UN, with a special focus on projects related to the East of Ukraine. As an editor, she ran the website kinoukraine.com. She is the author of a series of video lectures and a book dedicated to Ukrainian cinema. She is also a program coordinator of the OKO International Ethnographic Film Festival. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022, she became a part of the EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography (Poland) for its 30th edition.
