Federica Polidoro
Federica Polidoro has an academic background and extensive experience in film and audiovisual media. She holds a master’s degree in Film and audiovisual history, theory, and criticism, and studied broadcast journalism at the New York Film Academy under Emmy winner Bill Einreinhofer. Since 2001, she has worked as a journalist, theorist, film critic, essayist, and video reporter. Her career includes roles as editor, contributor, and correspondent at numerous international events, including the Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Marrakech, and Toronto film festivals, as well as serving as an awards season analyst. Polidoro has worked with a wide range of publications, including Repubblica, XL, L’Espresso, Il Sole 24 Ore, Il Magazine, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Il Tempo, Il Foglio, Cineuropa, Artribune, ArtsLife, The Orlando Dispatch, La Voce di New York, and the International Cinephile Society, as well as with news agencies such as Askanews and, recently, Italpress. She has also worked with institutions such as the Venice Biennale, which commissioned her essay on Venice Biennale College Immersive for the volume 10 Biennale College!, alongside contributors such as Stephanie Zacharek (Time) and Glenn Kenny (The New York Times). Since 2017, the year the Venice Film Festival launched its Virtual Reality space, she has focused on research and dissemination of immersive storytelling and digital media languages. Since August 2024, Polidoro has contributed to The Hollywood Reporter Rome through its closure and, during 2024, to The Hollywood Reporter USA edition. She has been a member of the International Cinephile Society since 2019, an international voter for the Golden Globes since 2021, and a member of the European Film Academy since October 2024. In addition to her journalistic work, Polidoro is a professor of publishing for fashion and entertainment at the National Academy of Fine Arts, combining professional practice with academic expertise.
