Isabel Wittmann is a film critic and researcher, and has earned a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at the University of São Paulo (USP). Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in film, with contributions to this field through articles and chapters in academic and non-academic publications as well as teaching courses and by giving lectures on film criticism and gender studies. In addition, she is the founder and chief editor of Feito por Elas, a platform dedicated to promoting and discussing the work of women in cinema through reviews, essays, and podcasts. She is a member of the Brazilian Film Critics Association (Abraccine) and the International Federation of Film Critics (Fipresci.)
