José D'Laura began in film commentary in the mid-80s with comments on the radio programs “Toda una semana de cine” and “La otra cara” and in the newspaper “La Información”. In 1990, he attended the International Film School to study "Latin American Film Dramaturgy". At the same time, he published the weekly page “24 x seconds” in “La Información”. Since 1993, he has hosted the weekly radio program "Cinema only cinema". He has also produced segments for television programs. He has been part of the Jury of the Santo Domingo International Film Festival, the Fine Arts Film Festival and the Global Film Festival of Santo Domingo. Currently, he is the director of the Centro León's Cine Club and publishes notes on cinema with his blog “Movie Suite”.
