Luca Celada
Italian journalist Luca Celada holds a BA in Communication Studies from UCLA, where he also studied the history of cinema. From 1986 -1989, Celeda worked in New York as news producer for RAI TV – Italy’s largest national broadcaster – and from 1990 to 2012 as on-air reporter for RAI in Los Angeles. During that time, Celada covered news, sports, and entertainment, including presidential elections, Olympic games, and Academy Awards, as well as covering the Sundance, TIFF, Cannes and Venice Film festivals for over 20 years. Celada joined the HFPA in 2010 and was chief editor of www.goldenglobes.com from 2014 to 2021. Closely involved with the HFPA’s commitment to philanthropy, Celada initiated the World Young Filmmakers Residency Program, overseeing outreach to TIFF/Venice/Film Independent. He also collaborated on HFPA restoration initiatives including partnerships with Lumière and Cinema Ritrovato heritage festivals as well as the Foreign Film Screening Series. Celada is currently Los Angeles correspondent for Il Manifesto, an Italian-language daily newspaper published in Rome.
