Manuela Santacatterina is a journalist and film critic. After earning a degree in Literature with a thesis on John Fante and a degree in Publishing and Multimedia Journalism on David Foster Wallace, she decided to dedicate her time to music and film journalism. Over the years, she has worked for major Italian websites, magazines, and newspapers, from Ciak to Il Messaggero, with editorial experience in both Rome and Milan. She currently works as a freelance journalist for the newspapers Leggo and Quotidiano Nazionale, the websites JustWatch and Movieplayer.it, and the radio station, media partner of the Venice Film Festival, FRED Film Radio. Since January 2013, she has dedicated herself to writing reviews and in-depth reports, as well as conducting interviews and video interviews with national and international talent, also covering major film festivals as a correspondent. She wrote an essay on Liliana Cavani’s documentaries and worked in the university setting as an assistant in an Anglo-American Journalism course. She fell in love with cinema thanks to her mother and believes the ending of Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria is among the most beautiful ever.
