Tien-Hsiang Wen

Critic Tien-Hsiang Wen started writing when he was 16 years old, and became a prominent film critic in Taiwan at age 20. He received his MA in art at Chinese Culture University with a study of Tsai Ming-Liang. He was the program director of Taipei Film Festival from 2002 to 2006, and also served as the director of Taipei Film Society and jury member for many film awards. In 2009, he was invited by Hou Hsiao-Hsien to head the executive committee of Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, and in 2010, Wen pioneered the Taipei Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival. He also teaches at universities and has written many books. In 2022, Wen won the Yang Shi Chi Memorial Award for his contribution to film festivals.
