Volodymyr Chernyshev is a Ukrainian film critic and cinema scholar who has been studying film history and theory for the past eight years. He is a staff film critic at LB.ua, one of Ukraine’s leading media outlets, and a film columnist for druk.press, an independent online magazine focused on culture and fashion. For the past five years, he has been reporting from major international film festivals, including the Festival de Cannes, Venice Film Festival, and Berlinale. In 2024, he was selected as a participant of the FIPRESCI Talent Press. He currently resides in Germany, furthering his academic pursuits in Weimar cinema.
