Rodrigo Portales is a journalist, cultural manager and film critic, born in Lima Peru, with communication studies at National University of San Marcos, and journalism and cultural analysis at Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University. He worked in the film sector since 2003 as journalist and film critic, jury at festivals and audiovisual competitions in Peru and abroad, manager and programmer of film clubs and alternative exhibition spaces, workshop leader and lecturer. He published in the film magazines Butaca, Tren de Sombras and Godard!, in Diario Uno, and currently in Cinencuentro and Diario Ahora. He was member of the FIPRESCI juries at Mar del Plata Film Festival (Argentina) and Guadalajara Film Festival (Mexico). He has chaired and is an active member of the Peruvian Film Press Association – APRECI. International voter for the Golden Globes since its 80th edition, and jury member for the Latin American Critics’ Awards for European Films of the European Film Promotion (EFP)
