It seems incredible but it’s been seven years since Marnie, Jessa, Shoshanna and Hannah burst forth from their Brooklyn walk-ups to conquer the world and reshape TV comedy. After her auspicious debut with Tiny Furniture, Lena Dunham created “Girls” in collaboration with Judd Apatow crafting a show, which captured the zeitgeist and redefined angst for the millennial generation. The series garnered a cult following and critical acclaim becoming a cultural touchstone. Now after two Golden Globes (and six nominations) the final season is upon us. The HFPA was invited to the Silvercup studios in Queens where the world of Girls was created for a last bittersweet farewell – and a very special tour of the sets. The HFPA’s Lynn Tso caught up with Dunham, Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet and asked them to reflect on the last seven years.
