PFW Shoe Trends Inspire Fashion: Platforms, Straps and Socks – Balmain, Chanel, Dior
Paris Fashion Week Shoe trends on the red carpet. We look ahead to shoe trends for the red carpet inspired by Paris Fashion Week. Balmain, Chanel, and Dior were some of the Design Maisons that focused on new foot fashion. The slanted heel, straps, platform, and – socks. If you want to update your footwear click through and be inspired.
Below: Dior showed the slanted stub heel, rounded toe, and straps galore.
Below: The platform is back and comes in all forms. Chloe showed it as a flat sandal.
Above: Balmain made the shoe a work of art. The platform base that spirals up and caresses the ankle providing the support to stalk and strut.
Below: Vivienne Westwood introduced the platform heel for men. Finally, the height-challenged male has an option.
Above: Chanel showed the ankle sock and thigh high as an extension of the shoe, putting the focus clearly on the leg. The sheen and sparkle attract the eye and draw it up to the garment above. The stacked shoe is finished with an arch strap topped by a bow with the signature emblem completing the whole.
Below: Off-white did some interesting things with the heel.
Above: Dior also showed the long sock. The strappy platform with rising straps, encircling the calf and extending all the way to just below the knee.
Below: Givenchy obtained the same effect – the encircled calf and ankle-focus – using laces.
Below: Elie Saab kept it simple with a traditional platform ankle strap that is the staple of every woman’s wardrobe.
We will be looking forward and backward at the looks we are likely to see and the looks that started trends in the heyday of Hollywood. More Paris Fashion Week trends will follow to inspire the red carpet.
