Alan Del Rosario

Alan Del Rosario, the first Filipino-American finalist in the Oscar Designer Challenge, made a name for himself when he dressed Hollywood stars like Michelle Pfeiffer, Debra Messing, Taylor Swift, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Paula Abdul and Lea Michele, to name a few.
His label, Thimble and Thread, was available on Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Anthropologie. This year, Alan will be launching his Bridal Collection under the label 1231 by Alan Del Rosario and his eveningwear, Decadence by Alan Del Rosario.
On the fashion trends, Alan said, “I see a lot of different shades of reds (from deep orange to deep blood reds). Blacks will always be classic but I see a lot of shine and textures in them. Leather and lace are very much in, and mixed with beadings. I also see nude colors with lots of appliqués in contrast colors like black, red, gold or electric blue.
“I see a lot of gold in both gowns and jewelry. We will see two different kinds of make-up — one will be very natural, fresh and the other will be very pin-up girl with red lips. Shoes will be in gold or silver.
“This year will be very interesting. We have the classic ladies like Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet. The risk takers like Kerry Washington, Zooey Deschanel, Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence. Then we also have the showstopper, Sofia Vergara.
“Definitely, all eyes will be on them.”
