Uncharted easily charted to the top of the box office and gave Tom Holland the number one and three slots with his Spider-Man: No Way Home swinging back to the race.

Solidifying his status as a box office star, Holland claimed the box office crown with Uncharted, director Ruben Fleischer’s movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s video game series of the same name.

The action-adventure starring Holland and Mark Wahlberg as a pair of adventurers hunting for Ferdinand Magellan’s lost treasure found gold with $44.16 million over the weekend. Uncharted is estimated to earn $51 million through the four-day frame including Monday, Presidents Day.

Channing Tatum struck gold in his co-directorial debut, Dog. The comedy-drama, which also marks Reid Carolin’s feature directing bow, fetched a strong $15.14 million to place second.

Channing does double duty since he’s in front of the camera as Briggs, an Army Ranger who escorts Lulu the dog (played by three canine actors – Britta, Lana, and Zuza) of his fallen commander to the funeral. The ensuing road trip of Briggs and the Belgian Malinois struck a chord with moviegoers hungry for heartwarming fare.

After 10 weekends, Spider-Man: No Way Home climbed back to number three with $7.2 million. Having now grossed a domestic total of $771.74 million and, as predicted, surpassed Avatar as North America’s third-biggest hit ever, No Way Home has a chance to hit the $800 million benchmark.

It wasn’t all good news at the box office. After bowing numero uno last week, Gal Gadot’s Death on the Nile dropped all the way to the fourth rung. The latest film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunnit novel, with Kenneth Branagh (who also directs) back as the famous mustachioed Belgian detective, could only scrape up $6.3 million.

Jackass Forever fell to the fifth spot with $5.24 million. With its reported $10 million budget and a domestic cumulative of $47.74 million, Jackass Forever is in better shape than Death on the Nile which is said to cost $90 million.

Making up the rest of the top ten were, in order, Jennifer Lopez’s Marry Me ($3.68 million); Sing 2 ($2.84 million); Scream 5 ($1.96 million); Blacklight ($1.77 million); and the debuting fantasy-horror-mystery The Cursed (1.72 million).

Overseas, Tom was also box office king with Uncharted opening on top in more than 40 territories. The movie also starring Antonio Banderas, which opened earlier internationally, collected $55.4 million to add to its offshore total of $88 million so far.

Uncharted performed solidly in Italy, the United Kingdom, Korea, Germany, France, and Australia. The treasure hunt caper has an ace up its sleeve – it will open in China on March 14.

Speaking of the world’s biggest film market, Death on the Nile opened there with $5.9 million. With $19.8 million in the past weekend for an overseas tally of $50 million so far, the follow-up to Murder on the Orient Express may find its savior in the international market, which has grown in revenue importance over the years.

Marry Me, J Lo’s rom-com with Owen Wilson and Colombian pop star Maluma, took in $5.2 million.

Sing 2, which continues to fare well in the offshore market, earned $10.3 million. The sequel to the animated feature about animals with powerful vocal pipes increased its international cumulative to $184.7 million.

Tom’s other hit revolving around a certain web-slinging hero hauled $8.1 million in over 60 territories, bringing the movie’s overseas total to a staggering $1.06 billion.
