Mabel Cadena, unstoppable as one of the most important Latin actresses, is poised to make her major Hollywood debut as a superheroine in the eagerly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. After a degree in psychology, the Mexico-born Cadena next directed her steps to acting, for which she studied at the CasAzul School of Performing and Audiovisual Arts of the University of Veracruz.

Pretty Problems, the new independent feature by director Kestrin Pantera, lets audiences follow Jack (Michael Tennant) and Lindsay (Britt Rentschler), whose careers and marriage hang by a thread. The movie highlights the different class divisions between these characters and a wild bunch of wealthy strangers which include Matt Flax (Graham Outerbridge), a self-made billionaire; and his bestie Kerry (Alex Klein), a trust fund kid with an actress/model girlfriend, Carrie (Charlotte Ubben).

China’s answer to Top Gun is a movie called Born to Fly which was to open on September 30, in time for the week-long National Day holiday celebrations starting October 1. However, it was pulled from release with no reason given aside from a vague announcement that it needed to “improve special effects,” according to radii.

On November 4, the Bolivian film Utama, directed by Alejandro Loayza, will be released commercially in New York at the famed Film Forum theater. Later, it will also open in Los Angeles, Chicago and other cities.
