The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) today elected German journalist Helen Hoehne as the Association’s president, leading its expanded Board of Directors. The vote follows that of the Board and Credentials Committee, which will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing reform plan to restructure the organization along the lines of accountability, ethics, and greater inclusion of the diversity of world journalism.

When the end credits started to roll after the first press screening of Dune at the Venice Film Festival, enthusiastic applause filled the Sala Grande screening theater. At the reception Alberto Barbera, artistic director of the Venice International Film Festival joined members of the HFPA delegation in celebrating the four young film makers which will participate in the program which has partnered the HFPA with the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals in an effort to mentor young artists from around the world.
