Theatergoers around the world lined up en masse to see Captain Marvel and propelled the Brie Larson led action extravaganza to a $455 million global debut. Larson stars as the title character, an ex-Air Force pilot who gained superpowers and was adopted by alien commandos after crashing her experimental jet in outer space.

The first Film Restoration Summit convened by the HFPA was held on March 9  at the historic Theater at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The building erected by United Artists founders Charles Chaplin, Mary Pickford, and Douglas Fairbanks and specifically its flagship theater, with its ornate a baroque and Hollywood Spanish revival decorations, could not have been more appropriate for a discussion about the crisis facing film heritage around the world.

“Women head up 69% of key departments on the show,” says Workin' Moms' multi-hyphenate  Catherine Reitman, who conceptualized the idea of a series dealing with realistic, flawed women, struggling with the real issues that undo 51% of the population and make women feel alone and unworthy. She executes this task with humor and honesty.
