Golden Globe winner Anthony Hopkins loved to play the piano when he was young - he could have become a full-time musician if he didn’t discover a passion for the theater. We asked him if music still influences his acting.

On the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, Golden Globe nominee Ann Dowd plays brutal Aunt Lydia, who is in charge of overseeing the Handmaids in their sexual reeducation and duties. HFPA journalist Gabriel Lerman met Ann Dowd and asked the veteran actress if Aunt Lyndia reminds her of her upbringing.

HFPA Grantee Ghetto Film School (GFS) is an award-winning nonprofit founded in 2000 to educate, develop and celebrate the next generation of American storytellers. The school looks for young talent from local communities and provides them with access, opportunity, and resources to pursue creative careers.

A great idea except it is 1962 and he needs protection, so the record company hires Italian-American New Yorker Tony “Lip” Vallelonga to drive him around and run interference in dicey situations.

Golden Globe winner Javier Bardem is a huge heavy metal fan. He was excited to reveal what he did this past summer:“I saw Metallica, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Accept, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Iron Maiden twice, and Pearl Jam, in less than a month and a half.

“I’d love to see more women on action movies as a cinematographer; it's lacking for women,” notes Director of Photography Jessica Lee Gagne, who, like a lot of women, has been questioned if the action genre is a place women should be. Is the bias justified? By way of a reply the Canadian shares that on one of her projects, “I was tied to a crane, running on a rooftop after the action, with a camera on my back.
