60 foreign language films have been qualified for the 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards consideration honoring 2005 achievements, it was announced today by Philip Berk, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. 196 feature films (115 drama and 81 comedies or musicals), 139 television series (79 drama and 60 comedies), 49 mini-series or telefilms and 60 foreign language films have been qualified for the 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards consideration honoring 2005 achievements, it was announced today by Philip Berk, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In addition, 96 songs are eligible for the Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.

Hopkins received six Golden Globe® nominations; including four as Best Actor (Drama) for “Nixon” (1995), “The Remains of the Day” (1993), “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991), and “Magic” (1978). He received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for “Amistad” (1997) and a nomination as Best Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made-for-Television for “The Tenth Man” (1988).

Dakota Johnson, age 16, is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. She is the first daughter of a former Miss Golden Globe to ever be selected.

Hollywood, CA, September 7, 2005 – The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has donated $250,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The emergency donation, speedily approved by the HFPA's members, follows last January's $250,000 contribution made to four charitable organizations involved in the tsunami relief effort in Asia.
