
Colin Higgins
Colin Higgins (born July 28, 1941 in Noumea, New Caledonia, France; died Aug 5, 1988 in Beverly Hills) was a writer who also became a director. His big breakthrough was his screenplay for Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby (1971), followed by Silver Streak (1976). He then wrote and directed three major box-office hits: Foul Play (1978), 9 to 5 (1980) and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982).
