A. R. Rahman

A.R. Rahman (born Jan. 6, 1967, as A. S. Dileep Kumar in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India) is best known in the West for his scores to two Danny Boyle films, Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and 127 Hours (2010). However, he has scored more than 100 other film and albums, according to BBC estimates. His stage musicals include Bombay Dreams (2001) and Lord of the Rings (2005).
