Richard Zanuck

Richard D. Zanuck (born Dec. 13, 1934 in Los Angeles; died July 13, 2012, in Beverly Hills) is the son of 20th Century Fox’s Darryl F. Zanuck, who made sure his son studied the studio workings from the ground up. As new head of the studio in the 1960s, Richard Zanuck turned the studio into a powerhouse after its bleak years due to Cleopatra (1963) and film-production cutbacks thanks to TV. In 1972, he went into production with David Brown The Sting (1973), Jaws (1975), and The Verdict (1982), among others. He produced six Tim Burton films.
