Sandra Dee (born Alexandra Zuck in Bayonne, New Jersey, April 23, 1942, died February 20, 2005) won a special Newcomer Golden Globe for Until They Sail (1957) by Robert Wise with Paul Newman, she acted in The Reluctant Debutante (1958) by Vincent Minnelli with Rex Harrison, Imitation of Life (1959) by Douglas Sirk with Lana Turner, she starred in the beach movie Gidget (1959), with Troy Donahue in A Summer Place (1959), with John Gavin in Romanoff and Juliet (1961) written and directed by Peter Ustinov, with Rock Hudson, Gina Lollobrigida and future husband Bobby Darin in Come September (1961), with James Stewart in Take Her, She’s Mine (1963), with Bobby Darin in That Funny Feeling (1965).
