Cannes 2022: “Plan 75” – A Government Plan to Encourage Euthanasia for Seniors

What happens when a government plan encourages euthanasia among people 75 years or older? One of the most moving films featured in the Un Certain Regard section of the 75th Cannes Film Festival is Chie Hayakawa’s debut feature, Plan 75. The drama imagines a scenario where Japan deals with the increasing older population by introducing a program called Plan 75 that offers senior citizens age 75 and up or pensioners into signing up for euthanasia free of charge, with the “perk” of getting a “preparatory grant” of $1,000 which they can spend any way they want.

La HFPA anuncia el panel “Global Voices: Empowering Women Behind The Lens” en Cannes

Como parte de su patrocinio en el Pabellón Estadounidense de este año en la edición número 75 del Festival de Cine de Cannes, la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera en Hollywood (“HFPA”, por sus siglas en inglés) anunció que uno de sus paneles, titulado “Global Voices: Empowering Women Behind the Lens” (Voces globales: empoderando a las mujeres detrás de las cámaras) que se llevará a cabo el martes 24 de mayo de 2022 a la 1:00 PM (hora local), estará compuesto por mujeres y se enfocará en las voces femeninas detrás de las cámaras. “Este año reunimos un panel dinámico con cuatro mujeres que muestran su trabajo en Cannes por primera vez.

The HFPA Announces the Panel “Global Voices: Empowering Women Behind The Lens” at Cannes

As part of its sponsorship at this year’s American Pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (“HFPA”) announced one of its panels will feature all women in focusing on “Global Voices: Empowering Women Behind the Lens” on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM (local time). “This year we assembled a dynamic panel featuring four women who are showing their work at Cannes for the first time.
