2023 Golden Globe Awards

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association® (HFPA) and The Beverly Hilton announced this morning the unveiling of the menu for the 80th Annual Golden Globe® Awards. This year’s menu features locally sourced ingredients from Southern California along with fresh, responsibly farm-raised Icelandic Salmon.

In the pre-Black Panther era, it would have been almost unbelievable to see a DC or Marvel film nominated for a major Oscar or Golden Globe. But director Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther was nominated for three Golden Globes in 2019, including Best Film – Drama, Best Original Song, and Best Original Score.

Ennio Morricone, the Italian-born maestro, is considered one of the most accomplished and prolific film composers of all time — his astonishing achievements are reflected in nine Golden Globe nominations spanning five different decades. His final Golden Globe was awarded to him in 2016 for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, following previous wins for The Legend of 1900, in 2000, and The Mission, in 1987.

George Clooney is that rare artist who makes Hollywood better: endlessly creative, fiercely loyal, and not at all plagued by the insecurities of your typical actor, he has been called the smartest man in the film industry by many. For the 2015 Golden Globes, he was chosen as the Cecil B.

The 71st Golden Globe Awards held on January 12, 2014, was a time to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, with major wins by such films as Behind the Candelabra and Dallas Buyers Club. The latter, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects), is a biographical drama scripted by Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack.

It was a “coming out” speech, although described as “sort of,” that still made headlines around the world. While Jodie Foster had previously thanked “beautiful Cydney (Bernard)” at a Power 100 Women in Entertainment 2007 event, her remarks as part of her acceptance speech as the Cecil B.
