Spring has sprung in Central Europe but that did not stop fans to flock to a rather dark movie this last weekend: The Batman was the number one choice. And yet, the biggest surprise was a live-streamed concert by the K-Pop stars BTS and a Turkish biopic about a tragic singer.

Italy confirms itself as one of the countries in the world that most attracts international productions and stars. In this period, given the loosening of Covid-19 restrictions for both traveling and filming, numerous crews have started new film projects in various territories of the “Belpaese” (the “beautiful country”, as Italy is often addressed).

It was no big surprise that Uncharted got unseated by The Batman. It is a big surprise, however, that the number three spot is steadfastly held by the female-driven German film Wunderschön.

Robert Pattinson’s new career chapter as the Caped Crusader is off to a roaring start as The Batman opened domestically with $128. 5 million, scoring as the pandemic period’s second-biggest bow.

The West, Europe, and Italy are trembling. As a result, fewer Italians went to the movies last week.

Before The Batman enters Uncharted territory next week, Spider-Man hung on to the box office top three. And with that, Tom Holland dominated the charts again, three weeks in a row, with two movies.

Uncharted reigns in its second week in theaters. In fact, this week’s box office seems like a deja vu all the way through sixth place, and there is not much shakeup in the rest of the German top ten, either.

Uncharted remains the #1 box-office earner in Russia: with just a 30 % drop versus its opening weekend, the first feature produced by Sony PlayStation Productions grossed 231 mln RUB ($3. 1 mln) for a total of 675 mln RUB ($9 mln) since its release last week.

Uncharted easily charted to the top of the box office and gave Tom Holland the number one and three slots with his Spider-Man: No Way Home swinging back to the race. Solidifying his status as a box office star, Holland claimed the box office crown with Uncharted, director Ruben Fleischer’s movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s video game series of the same name.

37 million fans loved the Playstation classic ‘Uncharted’. No surprise then that the live-action film version played its way into the top spot, while Germany’s most successful movie of 2022 so far stuck to number two, and Sing 2 held its notes in third place.
