Jennifer Hudson transformed as the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in Liesl Tommy’s, Respect.  A big part of how she achieved this was through the detailed and creative costumes she wore, designed by Carlos Ramos.

The costume designer’s love of vintage is apparent, combing the feel of the ‘50s and ‘60s and using writer/director Eugene Ashe’s family photos to finesse the stars’ wardrobe.

David Fincher’s latest work, Mank, allows viewers to experience one of Hollywood’s most legendary films, Citizen Kane, from behind Orson Welles’ camera. From the sound design mimicking crackling film reels to the classical composition of its cinematography, the film is an impressive recreation of the golden age of Hollywood.

The Undoing is set in the heart of New York City. The main characters, Grace and Jonathan Fraser, – played by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant – live on the rich Upper East Side, where women and men take luxurious designer brands for granted as part of their wardrobe.

Costume Designers Amy Roberts and Sidonie Roberts knew that for the fourth season of The Crown, the main focus would be on recreating Princess Diana’s legendary wedding dress. It was originally designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel for ‘the wedding of the century’ in St Paul’s Cathedral on July 29, 1981.

At age 6 costume designer Patricia Field knew her future was entwined with fashion, touting her favorite cowgirl outfit that included “a miniskirt, boots, a hat and a gun in a holster. ” Many will look at her subsequent costumes in shows like creator/writer/producer Darren Star’s new Netflix series Emily In Paris, (they also collaborated on Sex and the City), and her work on The Devil Wears Prada and recognize the themes of miniskirts and boots that are de rigueur amongst the fashion-forward today.

Bina Daigeler has made a name for herself as a Costume Designer of note in such disparate fare as Pedro Almodóvar’s All About My Mother and Volver, Oliver Stone’s Snowden, Anne Fletcher's Dumplin’ (Jennifer Aniston), Netflix’s Narcos, and Dahvi Waller’s Mrs. America, currently on FX.

The season 3 finale of BBC America’s Killing Eve aired May 31st, concluding an arc that primarily focused on the psychotically charming Villanelle’s backstory. The story takes Villanelle back to Mother Russia, in all the meanings of the expression, and is reunited with her mother, Tatiana.
