The Foreign Film Directors’ Symposium 2016

The directors of the five films nominated for the Best Foreign Language Golden Globe came together at the American Cinematheque’s historic Egyptian theater for the annual Foreign Film Symposium sponsored by the HFPA. Turkish-French director Deniz Gamze Ergüven (Mustang), Klaus Härö Finnish director of The Fencer , Belgian auteur Jaco Van Dormael (The Brand New Testament), Chilean director Pablo Larrain’s (The Club) and László Nemes director of Son of Saul (Hungary) talked about making the five extraordinary films vying for Golden Globes honors this year.

Foreign Nominees Talk Film at HFPA Symposium

The directors of the five nominated Foreign Language Films talked about everything from working with actors to editing subtitles today at the Annual Foreign Film Symposium, which took place at the American Cinematheque’s Historic Egyptian Theater.
